Welcome home! Now Leave!

Well this one is a little bit late, but it was fun so I'm going to blog about it.

Reading week, which was like three weeks ago, was spent in one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. We went to Mexico. We went from Friday to Friday. Our trip actually started on Thursday when we flew from Kingston to Toronto. That plane was delayed like forty minutes and we just made the connecting flight to Calgary as they were closing the doors. We made it to Calgary that night but our luggage didn't come till the next day. But no worries. We made it. I forgot how good the food is in business class. Yummy pot roast and giant rochets. We watched Walk the Line and slept and yeah.

Calgary was about -26 degrees C. You ever find that it's so cold that your nose hair freezes together and your coat gets all crispy? Yeah, it was definitely that cold. But we spent the evening with Mom's old high school buddy, Dave, and his daughter. It was cool and good and fun.

The next morning we were up at the crack of dawn to make the nine thirty flight to Extapa, a little town that's not near anything that I can think of that anyone would know. So we got into Extapa later. I don't even know how long that flight was. But it was really long. I forgot how much I loved that new Harry Potter book. My brother and I listened to it all the way there.

When we got there some guy talked us into going and checking out this one resort for a day and made up some crap about how we had to pay nothing and he was going to give us these tickets and bla I don't even know what it was all about. But we went and they screwed us around, big time. All the people who I met that day kept asking us if it was our first time in Mexico and when we said yes, they would always say "Welcome Home!"

We stayed in this little old hotel that had a few pools and stuff but was not on a beach. We were sitting at the side of one of the pools one day right by a palm tree. And this random huge piece of the trunk fell out of the tree. It could have killed somebody if it had hit them. That was freaky. This place had the most amazing food. Their barbecued chicken and ribs were to die for. Oh wow! Oh yeah, and first day I was there I sustained the worst god damn sun burn ever known to man. I totally am missing like half my chest. Oo it was bad and gross and horrible. It's not my fault that I didn't get sunscreen all over me. But anyways.

On the Monday, we went to the other resort, Club Intrawest. The food was good. We were right on the beach. It was gorgeous. Every morning we'd go in the water and run down to the end of the beach and jump through the waves. We met this awesome family from East Hampton and they became our new friends. They took us jet skiing, which, if you ever get the chance, you have got to do it. And yeah, the dad took my brother surfing for two days. It was awesome. And they took us out for dinner at this really fancy place. It was cool. And we drank a lot. It's weird when your mom gives you booze. And they make some of the best drinks. Even little small people would love these drinks. They were awesome.

Most of the people there were amazing and wonderful. And we met a man named Roberto! How awesome!

On the day that we were supposed to fly out the plane malfunctioned and so we had to stay another day. It was amazing! If you ever get the chance, go check it out. I want to go back there.
